Fluffed a line? Redo just that part
Most teleprompters make you start again from the top when you stumble. In ClippCut, each # section of your script is its own short take: redo the one you got wrong, and it joins the rest into one video.
Step by step: record part by part
- Split the script with # lines. Start a line with # to begin a section: # Hook, # Tip, # Call to action. Under More, choose By section.
- Record one section at a time. ClippCut records the first section and stops at its end. Fluffed a line? Redo just that section; the others stay as they are.
- Review them as one video. Review plays the sections back to back as a single video, with captions running across them. Save it as one MP4.
How it works
- Split your script with
# Hook,# Tip,# Call to actionlines (the ready-made scripts already are). - Choose By section under the shape buttons. The section chips show what’s recorded.
- Press record. The prompter starts at the section and the take stops by itself a moment after its last word.
- Got one wrong? Tap its chip and record it again. Only that section is replaced.
- When every section has a ✓, ClippCut shows the whole video, with the silence at the start and end of each section trimmed away.
Why it helps on camera
Short sections are easier to say well: you read three sentences, not thirty. You can also change energy between sections, step closer for the call to action, or re-record the hook ten times without touching the rest.
Free
Recording by section and redoing sections are free. Joining happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
How to split a script into sections
Sections work best when each one is a complete thought you can say in one breath or two: a hook, each tip, the call to action. Aim for 10 to 20 seconds each. Too short and the cuts between them feel choppy; too long and you're back to redoing big chunks.
| Video | Sections |
|---|---|
| Tip video | # Hook · # Tip · # Why it works · # Call to action |
| Product demo | # Problem · # Show it · # Result · # Where to get it |
| Story | # Setup · # What happened · # Lesson |
Keeping the sections consistent
Because you record sections at different moments, keep your position, light and energy the same between them. Don't move the phone between sections, and do a quick practice of the next section before recording it.
Questions
Will the cuts between sections look like jumps?
Yes, a little, like the jump cuts most talking-head videos use. Change your framing slightly between sections, or keep it the same for a tighter look.
Can I redo a section after I’ve seen the whole video?
Yes. The review lists every section with a Redo button.
