A vertical video recorder that runs in your browser

Record 9:16 video from any phone, tablet or computer, with the frame cropped to the shape you’ll post. No app, no upload, and it keeps working without internet.

Step by step: record a social video with ClippCut

  1. Pick the shape. 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; 1:1 or 4:5 for the feed; 16:9 for YouTube. The camera frame shows exactly what you’ll post.
  2. Read while you record. Your script scrolls right under the lens as you talk, so you keep eye contact. Voice follow keeps pace with you.
  3. Captions, timed to your words. ClippCut already knows your script, so it times captions to the take and burns them into the video. No upload, no transcript to fix.
  4. Trim and post. Trim the start and end, then save an MP4 or share it straight to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube from your phone.

What you get

  • Four shapes: 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9. The preview is exactly what gets recorded.
  • Front or back camera, with an optional selfie mirror.
  • A teleprompter strip under the lens, with speed in words per minute or voice follow.
  • Trim the start and end, then share straight to an app or save the file.
  • Takes kept in your browser until you delete them.

Works offline

After you open ClippCut once, it’s saved on your device. Recording, captions, trimming and saving all happen on the device, with or without a signal.

A recorder that starts from the script

Most camera apps start from the camera and leave the words to you. ClippCut starts from the script: you paste it, pick the shape, and record with the words scrolling just under the lens. Because it knows the script, it can time captions to your words, split the take into sections, and tell you how long the video will run before you record.

Before your first take

  1. Allow the camera and microphone when the browser asks.
  2. Do a practice run: it scrolls the script with a clock but doesn't record.
  3. Set the speed so you're never waiting for the text, or turn on voice follow.
  4. Check your framing with Safe zones on, then record.

Where takes are kept

Takes are stored in your browser on this device, so you can close the page and come back. They aren't uploaded anywhere. Clearing the browser's site data deletes them, so save or share the ones you want to keep.
